Who are we?
We’re Rachel and Shabe AKA @travelfreakonaleash. At the end of July 2016 we’ll be driving from London to Siberia and plan to mostly live our of our 1999 Toytota LandCruiser that we’ve modified for the journey.
When not teaching (Rachel) or doing Tech geekery (Shabe) we spend every waking moment plotting our next adventure or challenge.
Past highlights include:

- 50 Countries visited and counting
- Visited both the furthest Northern and Southern settlements on Earth
Favourite mountain climbed: Mount Rinjani, Lombok (3,726m) – the most amazing view of any Volcano out there.
Strangest encounter: Getting the outboard motor stuck in a crocodile infested mangrove swamp in Borneo. At night. And no one knew we were there…
Indiana Jones moment: Taking part in a ritual sacrifice during a tribal funeral on Sulawesi, Indonesia, cooking and eating it with the bereaved family.
Weirdest food: KFC Popcorn Chicken. Its just not natural. But oh so tasty 😉
Epic Animal Encounter: Getting up-close and personal with King Penguin in their natural habitat.
Favourite Animal: Our British Shorthair cat, Boo, of course!
